Yoga therapy uses exercises, asanas, breathing techniques, relaxation techniques, diet suggestions and more. It encompasses a whole-body holistic approach. We work with corrective exercises to help bring the body back into balance and breathing and relaxation techniques to help calm the mind and body.

The initial session begins with a consultation to assess your needs and goals and evaluate and assess the primary issues and understand the health problems that are being experienced. Depending on your needs this may take the first session. From there I will craft your personalised program that may encompass:

  • Physical exercises with adaptations and variations
  • Breathing exercises
  • Meditation and/or relaxation practices that can range from affirmations,
  • mantra, visualisations, guided imagery, progressive body relaxation techniques, and chanting
  • Discussion of yoga philosophy, ethical precepts, and lifestyle advice

Most students work in yoga therapy sessions over a period of time as they progress toward their health and well-being goal.
